Joshua Tree National Park is full of wonder with its rugged boulders, quirky Joshua Trees, and starry nights. It’s a truly one of the most unique places to stay in California! (And also one a great winter destination). There are endless options for accommodations, too. Here, I’ve curated the best of the best based on traveler reviews, unique features, and well-loved hosts. From luxe desert hideaways and off the grid cabins to actual space ships and private Airstream trailers, these are the best 18 Airbnbs in Joshua Tree.

1. Zebra Shadow for Indoor Outdoor Living

If you are in search of an experience that reflects the breathtaking natural surroundings here, look no further than Zebra Shadow.

It’s one of the best Joshua Tree airbnbs. This two-bedroom retreat offers swoon-worthy views from every single room.

The goal? To reflect the beauty around you so you can drink in the peace and tranquility.

It’s conveniently located just a 5 minute drive to the entrance to the park and comes with a large jet hot tub and outdoor shower (in addition to the two indoor bathrooms) plus outdoor propane fire pit.

You won’t be sharing those amenities with others either.

This is your own private desert oasis located on 3.5 acres of land. Be aware that there is an outdoor shower though (cold water only).

Are you up for a bucket list stargazing experience?

Stay in this architect-designed off-the-grid oasis.

This Joshua Tree cabin is basically a tiny house made from a simple steel structure that is open to the starry night and mountain desert views.

This place is magical. Since it sleeps two, it’s ideal for a romantic retreat (but it can sleep up to six).

There’s an indoor bed, an outdoor bed, and a pull out sofa.

It’s the best of both worlds: Sleeping directly under the velvety black sky while also enjoying a comfy bed.

3. Cozy El Agave Ranch on 1.5 Acres

If you’re visiting Joshua Tree with family or friends, you are going to love El Agave Ranch.

It accommodates up to six guests with two bedrooms (plus a third bed in one of the two bedrooms).

Plus, the ranch is on 1.5 acres right by the park. (It’s a 10-minute drive to get there.) And, it comes with homemmade banana bread and local coffee.

You’ll chill in the hammock as you soak in the desert magic and starry nights here. Roast s’mores by the fire pit when the night grows cool.

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway for two couples, or even traveling with family, the Dome House—with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths—makes an ideal base for a gathering.

6. Casa Indian Cove

Casa Indian Cove is all warm, earthy desert tones and a mix of mid-century style.

There are two bedrooms and one bath with fast Wifi, heating, and A/C.

You’ll love the serene vibe here and comfy king bed. (There’s also a queen bed in the second bedroom.)

The bath has just been renovated and includes a nice tub for soaking after a day hiking at the park.

It’s a 15 minute drive to the park from Casa Indian Cove.

Looking for a place to rejuvenate your spirit? The host of Tile House describes it as a “vortex in the desert of love and space.”

Meditators and creatives will feel at home in whimsy here.

With touches of luxury, it feels both safe and adventurous. This is Joshua Tree lodging at its most creative.

There are two bedrooms, both with queen-sized beds, at Tile House. Wifi is fast and reliable and there are laundry facilities, a full kitchen, and a wood-burning stove.

Plus, Tile House is pet-friendly! There’s access to a fenced yard for your pup.

You’l feel like you’re living in an art exhibit here. Lose yourself in the odyssey of pattern and color mosaics…a fusion of ceramic and stained glass that seems to glow in the desert light.

11. Purty Yurt

If you’re in search of both nature and comfort, the Purty Yurt is the place for you. It’s the ultimate California Airbnb glamping adventure.

You’ll be transported to a serene oasis once you enter Purty Yurt and take in the open skylight in the “ceiling.” Think of it as your personal portal to the stars.

Purty Yurt also comes with “Mini Me”, a second, smaller yurt. Both yurts, however, have queen beds so between the two, you can sleep four.

Just be aware that this is a glamping experience. That means you’ll need to bring your own food and water as there’s no on-site kitchen.

Or get take-out from one of the fantastic local restaurants. There is a porta-potty and solar shower as well.

M-House offers easy access to local supermarkets and the park but is just far enough away to be peaceful.

13. Stargazing Tiki Boat for Two

A boat in Joshua Tree? Yes, this is where the desert meets the sea. The stargazing Tiki Boat is the perfect spot for two!

It’s hard to overstate the fun factor of this tiki boat.

From the stargazing sofa to the sharky surfboard outdoor shower and the boat dock with a “tiki” pool for two, you might spend more time here than at the park!

In addition to the bed on the boat, you’ll love the Bluetooth-enabled record player in the Tiki Lounge and nautical punk theme in the modern-day outhouse.

While the owners are artists who work on site, you’ll have plenty of privacy here.

14. Mojave Green Cabin

If you want an Airbnb with a hot tub, stay here. Enjoy endless starry nights and insane views from the adorable Mojave green cabin.

It’s just 8 minutes into Joshua Tree and 15 minutes to the west entrance to the park. And you’ll be the only one here on 2.5 private acres.

16. The Rising Sun Tipi

The Rising Sun tipi is located on 10 beautiful acres within the Lazy Sky Boutique Retreat.

While you’re kind of camping, you’ll also be sleeping in extreme comfort on a cozy tuft and needle queen bed.

The tipi is decorated in Native American and Southwestern colors.

Sit outside and watch the sun rise over coffee. Store drinks in your Yeti cooler.

There are five tipis in total which share flush toilets and a hot outdoor shower, plus a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator and french press.
